It's sad that there are still people who try to fit others into certain roles/stereotypes -- not just gender-wise. At the end of the day, we can't change others, but rather change comes from within ourselves. I guess I've always thought it to be more important -- esp as a female (and Asian) -- to not let things of this nature be a road blocker. I would have definitely objected as well.
